Senator Joe Manchin: Please Run For President!
Joe Manchin would introduce Chaos to the 2024 Presidential race, and it could completely disrupt our ossified two-party system.
Which corrupt cadre do you believe Joe Manchin would help if he ran for President: Democrats or Republicans?
It’s not as cut-and-dry as some might think.
The initial reaction from many is that it would hurt Democrats because Joe Manchin is a Democrat.
However, Joe Manchin is a Democrat who managed to hold office in a state that’s nearly 70% registered Republicans. He certainly appeals to Republicans.
If you are certain you know which side he would draw more votes from, you are deluded.
He is Chaos personified.
A Joe Manchin run for the Whitehouse put forces in motion that could solve two major problems poisoning our Democracy:
We need to return to one Citizen equals one vote to take away the power of our political parties.
We need to stop the flow of anonymous money into our elections allowing anyone to amplify lies and influence policy.
1 Citizen <> 1 Vote
The Republican party and the Democratic Party are both Corrupt.
Do you know how they steal your Power?
They Rig Elections!
OMG! I didn’t just to down the Delusional Donald Trump rabbit hole, did I?
No not at all.
But I have your full attention now, so read on.
The Republican Party and the Democratic Party do NOT select their representatives by popular Vote.
1 Citizen <> 1 Vote
You may not have known that.
Bernie Sanders certainly does.
The Democratic Machine denied the one man with Heart the nomination and flipped him the bird.
The insiders found a way to put their Selfish Desire for Power on the scales and tip the balance away from you and toward Them.
Assholes.
Both groups are like connected Black Holes sucking all the Life out of the Citizenry and discharging it into itself.
They are all Assholes.
So how do we solve that problem?
We change the Rules of the Game to get their Greedy FUCKING HANDS off the scale!
1 Citizen = 1 Vote
Changing the Rules is the Heart of the Legislative process, it’s called Passing Laws.
That’s what they do in Government.
Smart Statesmen can figure out a solution, but let me offer some strategic guidance.
Any Organized Political Party with enough signatures to get on a ballot, must follow the same election rules as those Statewide, in their nominating process.
1 Citizen = 1 Vote
No cheating or loopholes that violate the one, simple rule. Caucuses, the epitome of a smoky room, are toast.
It’s not complicated.
Anyone could explain this to a five-year-old.
After Public Debate through the legislative process, (Consideration) we determine the best way to accomplish that and
GET
IT
DONE!
What the fuck happened to America?
~~ hangs head in shame ~~
Citizens United
I do have one policy recommendation I believe Joe Manchin can embrace.
Citizens United has got to go.
We can’t allow anonymous entities to influence our election process.
The problem with the 2016 election wasn’t coordination between Trump’s campaign and Russia.
The problem is the Russia can secretly pour unlimited money into a clandestine campaign to undermine our country, and Citizens United makes that perfectly legal.
In fact, any malicious power anywhere in the world can do the same.
It would be my preference for that to change.
Undue Concentration of Power
Due to Gerrymandering and party-nominating fuckery, we no longer have a democracy.
We are witnessing the results of each side competing with power to the point they even started competing to see how much power they could steal from US to fuel their internal war.
The power is so dangerously concentrated now that a complete dunderhead like Donald Trump almost became dictator for life.
What if Donald Trump wasn’t dumb as a brick?
What if he had Richard Nixon’s formidable intelligence?
The next Donald Trump, perhaps some soulless prick like Ted Cruz, might get a shot.
Ted Cruz particularly scares me because he is really, really smart, and he has no moral compass at all.
Fortunately, his so toxically un-charming that everyone hates him, which is probably what saved us from him.
Collapsing the 2-Party system
The only way to collapse a rigid system is to introduce Chaos. I’m asking Joe Manchin to be that Chaos.
If as little as 5% of the ballots were in play, 8 states suddenly become up for grabs, and all the leaner states become swing states.
In other words, we finally have a competitive election.
But the 5% randomness needs to be truly random. There should be no reliable way for pollsters and hucksters to guess at the outcome, and figure it will go one way or the other.
But how would Joe Manchin do that?
As I stated up front, there is no reliable way to figure out which voting block Joe Manchin will pull from.
Both Democrats and Republicans would support him.
I think their respective machines are too powerful for Joe Manchin to win, but his efforts would weaken and perhaps destroy them both.
Joe Manchin is an ideal cocktail of uncertainty to serve that purpose.
Run a campaign about Principles, and Principles alone
Despite the attacks I’ve read from all sides, I believe Joe Manchin has character.
Joe Manchin has the drive and passion to GO!
If he keeps focused attention on the Principles dearest to him, forgetting implementation as a detail to come later, he will show true Leadership.
Who should be his VP?
I can think of two people who could assist him Joe Manchin in this task. Both gentlemen would draw from both parties.
My first choice would be Adam Kinzinger.
My second choice would be Robert Kennedy, Jr.
Adam Kinzinger is by far the better choice because he has strong Principles, he’s currently sitting out the 2024 Republican collapse, and he is liked by both Democrats and Republicans.
Robert Kennedy Jr. is a descendant of Democratic royalty. However, he’s a crackpot who embraces wild conspiracy theories and other ideas embraced by the far right.
Democrats don’t take him seriously, and Republicans don’t know what to think about him.
Unfortunately, he probably pulls more heavily from Democrats, which would taint the election.
Lincoln and the Civil War
Campaigning on Principle is nothing new. We just haven’t seen it in modern history.
The last man to run on Principle was Barry Goldwater, and he got crushed. Principled campaigns didn’t serve Jimmy Carter, John McCain, or Mitt Romney.
However, if you go way back in time, Americans used to believe in stuff like that.
Abraham Lincoln ran a campaign in 1860 on two Principles: Freedom and Unity.
At the time, the Heart Stain of the Confederacy, Chattel Slavery, existed in direct contradiction to his first Principle: Freedom.
The South recognized that if Lincoln won, with Congressional support (which he had), he would undermine Chattel Slavery, the foundation of their economy.
The moment he won, he was challenged by his second principle: Unity.
The South seceded and broke the Union, so he responded with war. It was a principle he was willing to send men to their deaths for.
Notice it wasn’t slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation came later.
Lincoln knew he couldn’t afford to lose the border slave states who remained in the Union, and he could clean up the slavery issue later.
The Principal at Heart was Unity.
Joe Manchin must know his Principles, stick to them exclusively, and avoid policy debates.
Third-Party Campaigns Fail to Produce Presidents — So Far
Third-party candidates generally come from the fringes and pull reliably from one party or another.
Those are the candidates the individual parties fear most.
When one of those candidates runs, it moves the needle in favor of the other party.
A Joe Manchin campaign will not have that effect.
His campaign would provide a Measure of Resonance with Principle with the American people.
A Joe Manchin candidacy would introduce a huge element of chaos to the system.
The success of his campaign would serve as a demonstration of the voter’s belief in those values, and it would provide a direct measure of how strongly America believes in those Principles.
It won’t take that much to disrupt the election.
With the potential for election chaos, people will pay more attention, and it will snowball.
Collateral Damage
Since we are introducing chaos, we have no idea how this will impact the outcome.
But we don’t need to.
We won’t have collateral damage.
The election will reflect the desires and motivations of the American People.
We want that.
Many will vote for Joe Manchin’s Principles. If he doesn’t discuss policy, he won’t give the devil’s minions anything to chew on.
Others will vote based on their analysis of the issues and who they think can do something about it, which right now is no one.
And since the Electoral College is a winner-take-all proposition, he only needs to obtain the highest vote count in enough states to win the presidency.
Joe Manchin could win with less than 30% of the popular vote.
Principle. Principle. Principle.
If enough people are fed up, Joe Manchin might even win!
Think about it!
Nonsense is the Privilege of the Aristocracy.
Sieg Heil,
Phukher Tarlson.
